Stardust Shine Quilt
I’m so excited!!! The Stardust Shine quilt pattern is now available!!
This quilt is extra special for me, but I can honestly say I hope it never takes me this long to write a quilt pattern again!
It started as an idea jotted down YEARS before I started quilting for real. I wanted to make a quilt that didn't look like the typical perfectly gridded quilt. I wanted lots of stars, and I wanted them to dance across it's top.
But — I had no idea how to do that.
Fast forward to 2020 and, like many, I started quilting. If you've been around for a bit you'll know that I've been sewing since I was 10, but quilts weren't something I really knew how to do. But, like most things I do, I jumped in! After sewing 3 quilts and following a quilt pattern for the first time ever, my knowledge and inspiration finally aligned and I pulled my starry quilt idea back out.
Writing a quilt pattern for the first time is a daunting task, no matter what. But writing a pattern that uses 5 different blocks with 3 different sizes — well, that's a bit audacious!! From the beginning it has been imperative to me that this pattern be approachable and easy to understand, no matter your quilting experience. I was a beginning quilter when I started writing, so I knew what it felt like to sew from a pattern that assumed too much!
I’ve been working on this pattern since 2020, have rewritten it at least twice, and am forever grateful to various people for helping me with tech editing and making the pattern before I shared it with everyone, because I think I finally succeeded. Both in creating a design with dancing stars and a pattern that isn’t overwhelming and confusing!
Seeing this quilt come to life has brought me so much joy, and the way people have responded when I’ve shared it absolutely blows me away. I’m so happy you all seem to love this quilt as much as I do, and can’t wait to see what you create with the pattern!
